About

Every city has its stories—some written in history books, others whispered on street corners. For me, sharing those stories isn’t just a passion, it’s a calling. My name is Ted Martin, and I created Field and Fable Tours as a way to bring together the things I love most: history, people, education, and the outdoors.

My path here hasn’t been a straight one. I’ve worn many hats: Soldier, music teacher, School Resource Officer, precious-metals broker, and now, my proudest role, father. No matter the title, my work has always been about serving and helping others. Guiding these tours is no different. It’s just another way to connect, to inspire, and to share.

If I can encourage even one person to see Spartanburg with fresh eyes, to fall in love with history, or simply to enjoy a walk outside with a spark of curiosity, then this journey is worth every step.

So come along. Together, we’ll uncover legends, stir up a little mystery, and breathe life back into the stories that shaped our city.

Special Thanks

This project would never have come to life without the incredible support and contributions of so many wonderful people and organizations. I am deeply grateful to:

  • Taylor of Tailored Marketing — Not only did your branding and marketing expertise revitalize this project, giving it clarity, cohesion, and shine, your willingness to go above and beyond is second to none.

  • Kalani LaFrancis — A true educator who was “A1 from day 1.” Your brilliance,  passion for teaching, and literary prowess have been a guiding light. Best Media Goddess I know—thank you for lifting this project with your insight and creative spark.

  • My parents — Thank you for your endless patience and encouragement, listening to different parts of the tour over and over again. Your belief in me kept the momentum alive. I will never forget what you have done for me and everyone you know.

  • My wife and kids — I’m so grateful for your love and endurance during the long nights of research, weekends spent in the library, countless downtown photo sessions, brainstorming logo ideas, and so much more. Your support made this possible. -TCCA for life-
